Depth of field is a combination of aperture, focal length, and distance to subject.  Where you focus on the subject is called, &#8220;the field.&#8221; The depth of field is what we see in front of and behind the field that appears in focus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> For <strong>aperture<\/strong> the smaller the F-Stop number, the larger the aperture opening, and the shallower the depth of field.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>focal length<\/strong>, the wider the focal length in mm, the wider the depth of field.  The longer the focal length the shallower the depth of field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>distance to subject<\/strong>, the closer to the subject, the shallower the depth of field.  The further from the subject the wider the depth of field.    <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The image to the right is an example of blur motion.  The slower the shutter speed the more blur you will achieve.  There are two general rules in photography.  The minimum shutter speed to freeze movement, while holding your camera is 1\/60th of a second.  Note this is minimum and faster is better.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second is the minimum shutter speed to freeze movement, while holding your camera is equal to your focal length.  If your focal length is 100mm then your minimum shutter speed should be 1\/100th of a second. They <strong>DO NOT<\/strong> have to be completely different images.  It can be the same subject.  What I do want is you to not delete any images, and to switch between shallow and wide depth of field.   I do grade quality of homework, just that you turned it in on time.
